Pet Photo shoots - Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book?
Contact me on charlotte@cdphotography.org with your interest and some dates and locations in mind. Payment will need to be made upfront to secure the booking.
What’s included in the price?
The session fee includes my time on site, editing and any visits prior and after the shoot. It also includes all of your images (low quality with my logo) on a lovely wooden memory stick so you can keep all of the memories from the day, as well as a £20 gift voucher to spend on the beautiful wall art and products available to you!
What can I do with the images on the USB mentioned in your package?
My Pet Photography Package includes all of your best images on a lovely USB. The reason I do this is because countless times when I have paid for a photoshoot, I never see most of the images again, which I find devastating. The images allow you to keep these memories and use them on social media, or just to keep safe to show members of the family and friends.
You do have the option to buy the High Quality Digital files without the logo, or purchase a range of our products that you can hang proudly on your wall, or keep your images safe in an lovely photobook!
What happens after the photo shoot? When do I see the images?
After the photo shoot I will go and carefully edit your lovely images! This can take up to two weeks, and once I have finished we can meet up, either in your home, or my office, so I can show you your collection. The images will be a mixture of vibrant colour images, and a select few in black and white.

I will bring with me the beautiful products available to you so you can choose which pieces of art you would love to display in your home. I have a mixture of prints, canvases and photo books to show you! This is not a hard sell, you only order what you love.

*Due to recent lock down restrictions, a gallery will be sent to you so you can view your images, and the products will be shown to you during the photo shoot. We can meet in your garden or mine if you would like to see the products again*.
My dog has to be kept on the lead, otherwise it runs away, what can we do?
This is perfectly fine and shouldn’t affect our photoshoot too much. I will get a range of posed photographs for you, and in most cases I can remove the lead during the editing process at no extra cost. If you’re happy to, we can get shots of your dog running if you’re happy to run briefly with them!
What happens if my pet doesn’t behave?
Pets are pretty unpredictable, especially around someone new with a camera! Some days they could decide to just race around and not listen, run off or just be having an off day. This is okay, I will be able to let you know early in the session if today is just not working, and we can have a chat and reschedule.
We can make a new plan if you think the location wasn’t right for them, it’s just too hot etc I own two dogs, so I know what they can be like!
What happens if it rains?
I will always try and stick to our photoshoot, even if it’s due to rain, sometimes photos of pets splashing through puddles can look amazing, and makes great artwork in a Utility or Boot room, so I will always see what I can do! Again, if this doesn’t work, we can reschedule and try again.
What do I need to bring to a photoshoot?
To get your pets attention it’s best to bring his/her favourite toy, especially if it squeaks! Treats are good to bring too, but I try not to use these unless we really need to. Bring some water for your pet and either a bowl or a portable drinking cup, and of course poop bags!
Can I be involved in the photoshoot?
If you would like to be involved in a few photos with your dog then do bring some casual, nice clothes for your photos, and let me know beforehand. If you want to help me out on the shoot to get your dogs attention then I can involve you with calling the dog/ squeaking toys and have some fun with it!
What happens if I need to cancel the photoshoot or move the date/time?
If you need to cancel your photoshoot, your money will be refunded unless it’s 7 days or less before the date of the shoot. If it is within a week, 50% of the payment will be kept as I will be unable to book someone else for the cancelled date.

You can reschedule anytime as long as I am available for the new date, otherwise 50% of the payment will be kept.
What are you doing about social distancing whilst on your pet shoots?
To be able to continue working, I will be putting measures in place to reduce risk. I have a long lens that I use for my pet shoots so I don’t need to come close to you or your pet (as much as I want to say hello!).
I have hand sanitiser on me, I clean my camera before and after shoots, and I have a face mask to wear on site. I won’t be wearing this whilst photographing as I will need to get your dog’s attention throughout the photo shoot, but it will be worn otherwise.
